How to set a hiring manager
Assign the person who owns a Career, or clear the hiring manager.
The hiring manager owns the Career on the hiring team.
Before you start
- You must be signed in.
- These roles can set a hiring manager: owner, administrator, hiring manager, and Office Administrator.
- If you are a hiring manager, you can change the hiring manager on a Career when you are the hiring manager for that Career.
- If you are an Office Administrator, you can change the hiring manager on a Career when it includes an office that you administer.
- If you are a hiring manager or an Office Administrator, and you do not select a hiring manager when you create the Career, the system assigns you as the hiring manager.
View Careers
- Open Hire, then open Careers.
- Select the Career title. This example uses Store Associate.

- Select Actions.
- Select Edit open role.

Hiring manager
Hiring manager is in Basic Information, under Description.

- Open Hiring manager.
- In Search…, type a name if the list is long.
- Select the person.
- Select No hiring manager if you do not want to assign one.
- Select Save changes.
If the list shows No matching people, type a different name. You can assign only people that your role can select.
Interview Schedule
You can also set the hiring manager from interview settings.
- Open the Career.
- Select Settings.
- Select Interview Schedule.
- In Hiring manager, select the person.
- The page saves the change. A success message shows: Hiring manager updated.
Use Edit open role when you also change the title, description, pay, or offices. Use Interview Schedule when you only change who owns the role for interviews.
After you finish
A success message shows: Career updated successfully.
On Details, Quick details shows the hiring manager.
