Role summary
The Medical Assistant helps providers deliver efficient, patient-centered care by managing clinical prep, basic procedures support, and accurate documentation throughout the visit.
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for patient visits
- Obtain and record vitals, histories, and medications in the EHR
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures as directed
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, or other clinic-specific tasks per credentialing
- Educate patients on prep instructions, medications, and follow-up care
- Maintain infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA-compliant workflows
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Proficiency with electronic health records and medical terminology
- Strong interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift clinical supplies as needed
Nice to have
- CMA, RMA, or state-specific certification
- Experience in primary care, orthopedics, dermatology, or other specialties
- Bilingual communication skills
