Create a career listing

Add an open role so people have a place to apply.

Use this when you have an opening and need a public listing. The create flow has three steps: Career details, Application questions, and Share.

When you finish, the Career goes live on your public site and is open for applications right away. To change this, see Managing career settings.

Before you start

  • You must be signed in.
  • These plans include this feature: Hire, Hire + Retain, and Enterprise.
  • These roles can create a Career: Owner, Administrator, Hiring Manager, and Office Administrator.
  • If you are an Office Administrator, select at least one office that you administer.

Open Careers

  1. Open Hire, then open Careers.
  2. Select Add career.
The Careers page. Add career is at the top right.

Write the role

The page title is Create open role.

  1. In Title, type the name of the role.
  2. In Description, write the work and the requirements. Select Generate job description after you enter a title to get a draft you can edit. This is useful when you are writing a description for the first time or need a starting point.
  3. Select the work arrangement that applies: Remote, In person, or Hybrid. You can select more than one.
  4. Select the employment type: Full-time, Part-time, or Contract.
  5. In Pay structure, select how you pay. Select Not disclosed if pay must not appear on the public listing.
The Create open role page. Title, description, and Generate job description are near the top.

Choose offices and who owns hiring

  1. In Hiring manager, select the person who owns the role. Select No hiring manager if you do not want to assign one. If you are a hiring manager or an Office Administrator and you leave this empty, the system assigns you.
  2. In Offices, select every location for the role. Office Administrators must select at least one office they administer.
  3. Select Add Office if the location is not in the list.
  4. In Team, select the team, or keep None.
  5. Select Continue.
